What Morgan's Academy of Dance has to offer?

Morgan’s Academy of Dance is currently open every day offering over 30 classes a week with a selection of classes for all ages.

We accept students from 2.5 years through to adults, please check out our new timetable with a wide range of classes.

A brief introduction to the classes we provide here at Morgan’s Academy of Dance.

For new students, classes will be allocated based on age and previous dance experience.

Classes:

Ballet

2 years +

Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. Body placement, flexibility, alignment, strength and technique are achieved through barre and centre floor work following the IDTA syllabus.

Ballet classes start from our Dinkie ballet at 2.5 years, through to advanced levels.

Acrobatic Arts

4 years +

Our Acrobatics classes are run by certified teacher’s of the Acrobatic Arts training programme. Our classes aim to develop students from beginner preschool dancers through to advanced in the five divisions of Acro dance: flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. Classes will teach not only the technique and challenge students to achieve personal goals, but also help them to understand the progressions and reasons behind them to reach their ambitions safely. The programme itself has had input from various different dance, yoga and gymnastic professionals to create a comprehensive and exciting variation to traditional gymnastics. Grades are available to be taken at the teacher’s discretion

Street Jazz

4 years +

The funky moves to the most recent up to date music. In this high energy class, students learn choreography and routines covering various urban and commercial styles.

If you have sass and love to dance this class is for you! Classes start for students 4 years in our Mini Street Jazz through to our intermediate / advanced dancers

Lyrical Jazz

6 years +

Lyrical/Contemporary dance is a style that combines various genres, such as ballet, jazz and acro. It is performed to music and encourages the dancer to use expression of emotions whilst learning to listen to the music carefully and use their movements to interpret the sounds. The choreography tends to tell a story and gives the dancer the opportunity to add their own style.

Musical Theatre

2 years +

Musical theatre combines the 3 performing arts disciplines of acting, singing and dancing.

This is where we encourage fun whilst learning! Classes are action packed, fun filled and driven. Our classes provide an introduction to the skills and techniques used to perform on stage as well as opportunities to experience the different responsibilities involved to create the full effects of a production, such as lighting and props. Classes are a great way of building students confidence, passion and love for performing.

Singing & Acting

5 years +

In this class we combine both singing and acting, children are taught correct singing technique and confidence. Confidence to sing in public. Classes are group based with those wishing to sing solo are encouraged to do so. Within acting students are taught confidence building techniques through the form of drama based games and the studying of monologues, duologues and poems in preparation for festival participation auditions and LAMDA examinations.

Stretch & Limbering

6 years +

Stretch and Limbering classes are an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best. This class helps students gain more strength and flexibility, focusing on core strength, splits, kicks and leaps.

LAMDA Classes in Musical Theatre

6 years +

LAMDA Group Musical Theatre exams encourage students to develop both their musical and acting skills as a group – performing their scenes together as a full cast.
